Babybird – Ugly Beautiful

Back in the mid 90’s, I co-owned a record store in Ashland, Ohio called “CD Village.” It was the central office of “The Village Buzz,” “Adrenaline Rocket,” and a place where we spent a great deal of time hanging out.
Most of the time we spent listening to stacks of records. I would always look for weird things I had never heard of. It was one of these afternoons that I ran into “Ugly Beautiful” by Babybird. The the first few listens were mysterious, but by the third or fourth listen, I was infected.
The odd thing was that I have yet to meet anyone who had heard of this album. I really do go out a lot, and meet a lot of people; it’s not like I am a shut in or anything. Almost 20 years, and I have still met another fan. Are any of you familiar with this record?
