Brian Wilson – That Lucky old Sun
Anyone who has known me for any length of time knows that I am a Brian Wilson dork. I think my geekdom was born of growing up in Southern California in a house full of my mom’s Beach Boys 45’s.
That Lucky Old Sun (the album) is a thinly veiled celebration of Frankie Laine’s original number one hit by the same name. Of course, being a Brian Wilson album, it nods to the Southern California lifestyle of girls, cars, and waves.
This song, “Good Kind of Love” has been the harbinger of summer time for that past few years for me. Hopefully, you’ll find a place for it in your playlists somewhere.
